BIS Odyssey Newsletter: Issue 10

Odyssey newsletter 10

We are very pleased this month to feature the important work of the BIS History Committee. The BIS has a rich and distinguished heritage, which is being carefully preserved by this group of dedicated and hardworking volunteers.

Also featured is an interview with Larry Niven and a tribute to the memory of Arthur C. Clarke.

The DragonLab capsule, currently under development by SpaceX, is the topic of next Thursday’s evening lecture (1 December).

If you can, please support the lecture on the 14th December by an exciting speaker new to the BIS, Sheila Kanani. Sheila’s talk on Planetary Science will round-off what has been a memorable year for our rejuvenated meetings programme.

We also hope many of you will be able to make the Christmas get-together on the 7 December, which features an entertaining talk by Alan Aylward entitled: From Daedalus to Dan Dare to Daedalus.

Finally, if you are hunting for Christmas presents, a new range of BIS merchandise is about to come out just in time for that all important gift; full details can be found on page 6 of the newsletter!

Be sociable; support the BIS!
