Four student teams have submitted their design proposals for an interstellar laser-propelled mission. The reports are now being reviewed by the i4is Technical Research Committee and external world renowned interstellar experts. Representatives from each team will be presenting their designs in London at the BIS HQ. The teams are from the University of California Santa Barbara, the Technical University of Munich, Cairo University and Cranfield University partnered with both the Skolkovo Institute of Science & Technology and the Paul Sabatier University. The final judging and award ceremony will take place at the end of the day.

The results from the competition will form the basis for some near future technological developments in this exciting area of interstellar research. This is a unique opportunity to experience first-hand some of the ideas from our bright, young, prospective interstellar proponents!

i4is recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign to raise the prize purse and the funds for the students to travel to London for the workshop. Please visit the campaign website for more details on the competition and the teams. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1465787600/project-dragonfly-sail-to-the-stars/description

Tickets for the workshop are £50 for the day and include lunch and refreshments. Please email info@i4is.org for registration and payment options.
