Local Information
Yverdon-les-Bains is an attractive old city renowned for its thermal baths. It lies on the southern edge of Lake Neuchâtel. The city is best reached by express train, these run regularly from Geneva Airport and Geneva City, journey time is one hour. Taxi services and public buses operate from Yverdon-les-Bains station, but most hotels are within walking distance of the train station. Air fares to Geneva from most European cities are relatively cheap when booked in advance (many competing airlines). The EMPS Workshop will be held in “Y-Parc – Swiss Technopole” which is 2 km from the station, or about 1 km from the recommended hotels. Public buses run to Y-Parc and there are plenty of car park spaces close to the Workshop venue. Signs at Y-Park will lead to the lecture hall.
