Apollo 7 – The First Flight by Jerry Stone (11 October 2018)

Speaker: Jerry Stone
Date: 11 October 2018
Start Time: 7 pm
End Time: 8.30pm
Venue: BIS, 27/29 South Lambeth Road, Vauxhall, London, SW8 1SZ

We are approaching the 50th anniversary of the most incredible achievement – landing the first men on the Moon.  Of course Apollo 11 wasn’t the only flight, so Jerry Stone will be giving a presentation about every Apollo mission on its own 50th anniversary, going right through to December 2022, the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 17.

The series starts with the story of the first flight – Apollo 7.  Join Wally, Walt and Donn, with their problems and their triumphs on this “shakedown cruise” of the re-designed Apollo spacecraft, as they aim to put America back on course to the Moon.

Jerry Stone is well known as a space expert – especially on Apollo.  He has given talks about space since 1969 and now runs Spaceflight UK (www.spaceflight-uk.com), presenting space activities all over the country. He is often interviewed on radio and TV, and he is the author of “One Small Step”, commemorating the Moon landings. Copies will be available (£15) which he will be happy to sign.
