BIS Summer Get-Together 2019

Date: Saturday 27th July 2019
Start Time: 1.30 pm
End Time: 5 pm
Venue: National Space Centre, Exploration Drive, Leicester, LE4 5NS

Join us at the National Space Centre for the Society’s AGM, followed by an afternoon social.  Catch up with BIS friends and bring a guest for a relaxing afternoon, then take your time looking around the Centre’s galleries.

BIS Fellows are invited to the AGM, which will be followed by a discussion on the Society to which all Members and Fellows are welcome, so come and have your say about the BIS.

The focus of the afternoon will be the social and Members and their families will have free access to the galleries.

The Centre opens at 10:00 am, so Members and their families are welcome to come early to make it a full day’s visit.

The National Space Centre has been extremely kind in offering the BIS the use of its facilities and access to its galleries at no charge, so the event is free for Members and their families.  However, there is a charge for teas and coffees, so we ask for a cash donation of £5 per adult on the day.

Food and drink can be purchased at the centre’s cafe.

The event is limited to 40 people, including friends and families of Members, so places will be allocated on a strictly first come first served basis.  Book your place using the form below. Fellows are eligible to vote and the AGM Notice with ballot form is now available by clicking here.

Please note that due to the limited number of places, the event is limited to BIS Members and a single guest per Member.

Please advise us if you are a Fellow and wish to attend the AGM only.

Directions to the site can be found at spacecentre.co.uk

Please note that there is an all-day parking fee of £3.

We are arranging a car-share scheme, so if you have any spaces available in your car, please let us know the number of seats and your route, or if you would like a lift, please advise us of your location.  We’ll do our best, but no promises. Email [email protected]

We look forward to seeing you at the National Space Centre for what is sure to be a memorable afternoon.
