WSW Geocaching Trackables – Where Are They Now?

In 2014 five World Space Week Geocaching trackables were placed in Geocaches around the UK by a series of volunteers.

These tags, printed with the original WSW logo, have travelled internationally and some have gone missing.

In 2020 we want to reinvigorate and track their journeys and we need Geocachers all over the World to help locate them!

During their onwards journeys we would like to see these trackables:

  • Be photographed at space/science-related sites of interest (or with something space-related)
  • On Twitter and other Social Media channels (please use #WSW2020 and @WSW_UK)
  • Videos of the trackables journey and their discoverers uploaded to the WSWUK YouTube channel

In line with the World Space Week Association’s goals, these trackables are to be used to:

  • Provide unique leverage in space outreach and education
  • Educate people around the world about the benefits that they receive from space
  • Encourage greater use of space for sustainable economic development
  • Demonstrate public support for space programs
  • Excite young people about science, technology, engineering, and math
  • Foster international cooperation in space outreach and education
