Nominations are now open for candidates who wish to serve on the Council of the British Interplanetary Society. Standing for Council is your way to influence the direction of the Society, leading to becoming a Trustee and Director, and joining the prestigious body responsible for setting strategy and overseeing finances.
Your Council is made up of 12 elected Fellows of the Society. To be a candidate, you must be a Fellow of the BIS (and have been in Fellowship for three years), gain two Fellows to propose/second your nomination, and meet the other eligibility criteria. You can learn more about Council and you can also access our governing documents which set out the workings of the Society. Meetings take place every six weeks, and many Council Members also serve on other Committees.
All eligible Fellows are invited to apply by 16th September 2022 at 12:00 BST. You can make your application online, or you can contact us for a paper form.
