ESA School Days Return to ESRIN
The British Interplanetary Society is delighted to join in celebrating the return of ESA School Days to ESRIN, ESA’s centre for Earth Observation in Frascati, Italy, April 13 to 17 2026.
This annual event brings together thousands of students and teachers to discover space science and technology through hands-on demonstrations, inspiring talks, and interactive experiences.
We are especially proud of the BIS’s direct role in supporting this year’s gathering. Our Council members Fabrizio Bernardini, Steve Salmon and BIS-Italia are actively engaged in setup and preparations for the activities at ESRIN, helping ensure that every participant enjoys a rich and exciting educational experience.
Among the innovative educational initiatives linked with this effort is the SPACE CAMP project developed by Associazione Italiacamp together with Telespazio, Innovalley, IIS “Alessandro Volta” of Pescara”, “Luigi di Savoia” of Chieti and “Ettore Majorana” of Avezzano institutes, as well as with the scientific contribution of the British Interplanetary Society where students are gaining experience with an advanced spaceflight simulation system as part of a broader programme on human spaceflight and satellite operations.
ESA School Days exemplify how collaboration between space professionals and educators can engage young minds and spark life-long interest in science, technology, and exploration. These experiences reflect the shared mission of ESA and the BIS – to inspire and enable humanity’s journey into space.
We congratulate ESA and our BIS-Italia colleagues on bringing this inspiring event to life, and we applaud all participants who will make this celebration of discovery truly unforgettable.
