Date: 4 November 2026
Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Location: BIS HQ and Online on Zoom

SpaceX launches at Starbase, Texas are planned to dramatically increase in frequency over the next few years. Father and son Colin and Henry Philp took a journey to the southernmost tip of the state and visited the site in August 2025 to see the stacking of Starship on its Super Heavy booster close-up, followed by the launch of Starship Flight 10 on 26 August.

Join them for a detailed insight into their visit to the launch site, its infrastructure and the dramatic launch itself.

Colin Philp is President of the BIS and a lifelong space enthusiast. A child of the Apollo era, he watched the moon landings on TV as a very young, very distant participant. Colin is a former professional photographer.

Henry Philp is a BIS Member and a graduate aerospace engineer specialising in propulsion. He is a fellow space enthusiast who grew up at the end of the Space Shuttle era and has followed the new space age with interest. Henry has written regularly for SpaceFlight magazine and is co-running a project to develop a rocket engine.
