Kicking off our summer of activity for Women in Space, in celebration of this being the theme for World Space Week in October, the BIS is delighted to host an International Women’s Day celebration. This panel event will be an opportunity to hear from high profile women in the space sector, with an international flavour.
As we head to look at past, present and future female faces in the space sector in 2021, our panellists will be talking about their own inspirations and careers, with an opportunity for you to ask your own questions about their careers, and to share your own stories.
Our panel will feature Dr Alice Bunn, International Director at the UK Space Agency, Vice Chair of the Council of the European Space Agency and co-chair of the World Economic Forum Future Global Council on Space Technology; Hessa Rashid Al Matroushi, the Science Lead for the Emirates Mars Mission at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre in the UAE; and Liz Seward, Senior Strategist at Space Systems for Airbus and Secretary of Women in Aerospace – Europe and their UK Lead. The session will be chaired by BIS Chief Executive, Elizabeth Anderson.
We will also announce our programme of summer activity, and get you thinking about how you can engage in Women in Space 2021.
