Project Hope: With UAE Space Agency Chair HE Sarah Al Amiri

The BIS is delighted to welcome Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, Chair of the UAE Space Agency, to give a very special presentation on Project Hope, the Emirates Mars Mission.  The mission is a United Arab Emirates Space Agency uncrewed space exploration mission to Mars. The Hope orbiter was launched on 19 July 2020, and reached Mars on 9 February 2021. The mission design, development, and operations are led by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre.

Her Excellency will talk about the Project, and will be joined by Professor Charles Cockell, who authored the BIS Project Boreas report, and Patrick Rennie, who leads the Mars Society UK.

HE Sarah Al Amiri is the Minister of State for Advanced Technology within the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in the government of the United Arab Emirates, chair of the UAE Space Agency and the United Arab Emirates Council of Scientists, and Deputy Project Manager of the Emirates Mars Mission.
