Abstract: Oxford Space Systems (OSS) makes some of the most innovative deployable antennas for space you can find. During this talk Juan Castillo will cover the basics of antennas, how they are used in space and why deployable antennas are important. All this while learning about some of the most interesting designs from OSS!

Biography: Juan Castillo is a Business Development Manager at Oxford Space Systems. An electronic engineer by training, he has worked for 20 years in high-tech companies in the U.S. and the UK. With most of that time spent in the space industry, he has participated in several missions, notably in payload development for Alphasat and the RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM).

Juan holds a BSc in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar, an MSc in Digital Signal Processing from Queen Mary – University of London, and an MBA from Manchester Business School.
