Speaker: Chas Bishop, Chief Executive Officer at the National Space Centre

The National Space Centre in Leicester welcomes 300,000 visitors a year, delivers National Space Academy programmes across the UK and overseas and is home to the award-winning NSC Creative immersive story-telling studio.

Chas will give an update on The Charity’s fortunes, explain the benefits of working alongside the University of Leicester’s Space Park Leicester and summarise the ambitions of Vision 2030.

Biography: Chas has been Chief Executive of the National Space Centre since its start in 2001, launching the National Space Academy and NSC Creative immersive story-telling studio in 2008 and since steering The Charity through the challenges posed by COVID. His prior career was in visitor attractions including Madame Tussauds and Alton Towers and he has since held multiple non-executive roles in science centre, business and tourism organisations. He has an honorary doctorate from the University of Leicester and loves his sport.
