NextGen Space Careers Day

 

Organised by the BIS NextGen Network and supported by UKSEDS and SGAC, the NextGen Space Careers Day offers a prime opportunity for Students, emerging space professionals and anyone interested to connect with the space community – Expand your knowledge, receive expert guidance and forge valuable connections to boost your career within the UK space sector!

Attendees will gather for short talks by selected speakers and mentors, including a panel on careers advice and speed mentoring on career development in the space sector. There will also be an interactive workshop to capture the Voice of the Next Generation with topics linked to the theme of the conference ‘The Commercial Revolution‘ which will be published as as one of the key outputs from the conference.

This is a parallel session to the main RISpace conference, open to everybody – separate registration is required and you do not need to be attending the main conference in order to attend this. If you register for the main conference, you can also drop into this session at no extra cost.

BIS NextGen Network

The BIS NextGen Network aims to connect, inspire and empower students and young professionals in the space community. Through networking, events, and career development support, the NextGen Network brings the next generation of the space community together.

UKSEDS

UK Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (UKSEDS) is the UK’s national student space society. For over 30 years they have been supporting students and young professionals across the country by running events, providing resources, and teaching new skills. UKSEDS alumni work throughout the global space sector in government, industry, and academia.

SGAC

The Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), in support of the United Nations Program on Space Applications, is a non-governmental organization and professional network, whose goal is to convey the perspectives of students and young space professionals to the United Nations (UN), space industry, space agencies, and academia.

Voice of NextGen – Interactive Workshop

Be a part of the discussion and provide the Voice of the Next Generation! This is a dynamic workshop discussing the needs and opportunities for the Next Generation in the UK Space Sector. The workshop also importantly aims to capture ideas and opinions linked to key topics relevant to the theme of the conference. The format of the workshop will include an introduction to the topics to be covered and ideas gathering session, followed by breakout groups focusing on selected topics. The discussion from each group will be shared by each group, compiled and summarised at the end of the afternoon session within the main RISpace conference session. The results of the Workshop will also be published as key output from the conference and subsequently shared with key stakeholders and policy makers within the UK Space sector.
