Sam Carey

Sam Carey joined the British Interplanetary Society in August 2025 as 'Head Of Operations' where he oversees all aspects of the office administration, ensuring efficient office procedures and compliance with health and safety regulations. Sam leads on all operational support for BIS conferences, lectures, and exhibitions that we attend at other venues, or host at our HQ in Vauxhall. 

Before he joined the BIS Sam worked at Sperry Marine as a Senior Service Coordinator. Sperry Marine produce and install navigational equipment on large commercial vessels and his main role amongst others was to arrange/coordinate Engineers onboard their contracted vessels when the equipment was faulty. Before joining Sperry Marine, Sam served in the British Army for 8 ½ years. His unit was 12 Regiment Air Defence, Royal Artillery. During his time in the Military, he deployed to Germany, Canada, France and Estonia on various exercises and operations. Sam also represented the Artillery in numerous tennis tournaments.

Sam's main interests and hobbies are watching and participating in Tennis and Football. He is a regular visitor to Wimbledon Tennis and enjoys supporting his local football team, Wycombe Wanderers. He and his wife thoroughly enjoy long walks in the countryside and are regular visitors to the Surrey Hills.
