Speaker – Marc Casson, Mission System Engineer, SSTL

Abstract – SSTL (Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd) has helped pave the way for faster, cheaper satellites in Space for over three decades and, with humanity finally returning to the Moon this decade, it is aiming to help provide the infrastructure to make it happen. Marc’s talk will focus on SSTL’s founding and its past missions, along with current and future projects.

Biography – Marc has been working for SSTL as a mission systems engineer for over five years. Prior to this, working for Comdev Europe as a TTC systems engineer, he was involved in commercial missions for communications, navigation and Earth observation along with science missions for ESA- specifically CHEOPS. His academic background is in aerospace engineering with a masters in astronautics and another in astronomy/astrophysics.
