Les is a regular volunteer at BIS HQ in Vauxhall and helps to look after and catalogue the BIS Library & Archives.
Les spent his entire working life firstly in Storage and Warehousing and then Distribution, ending in Logistics before taking voluntary redundancy to become carer. Following his retirement, he began volunteering for the BIS.
Les has always been interested/fascinated in Astronautics and aeronautics; from Space Patrol and Fireball XL5, the Gemini and then Apollo missions, and beyond.
Les joined BIS Council in 2024, and whilst it is still early days, he hopes, at the minimum, to help encourage more volunteering and involvement for the membership in Society affairs.
