Simon has worked in the space sector since studying for his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in engineering at Oxford Brookes university. His background is in advanced propulsion systems development for future low-cost reusable access to space, following an extensive career at UK propulsion company Reaction Engines. His professional experience within the industry is wide ranging, covering technology R&D, business operations & development, and future strategic space studies. Simon has a strong passion for all aspects of astronautics and is very excited to be leading the BIS into the future.
